Explore your day away.
Hear the outdoors calling?
Located at the edge of the Appalachian foothills, Holmes County has diverse geography, wildlife, woodlands, and vistas. These hills hold plenty of outdoor escapades. Put in near town or head to a scenic spot for a day of canoeing on the Mohican River. Get in some hiking and pop a tent at Mohican State Park. Spot sandhill cranes, bald eagles, muskrats, minks, and beavers around the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area. Or, if you enjoy nature from your car, take a driving tour to the area’s three covered bridges.
Enjoy this place at your own pace.
If you want to keep moving, grab your bike and hop on our Rails-to-Trails. You’ll share the trail with buggies and can stop for lunch along the route. If you need to work on your putt, go golfing. Select one of the area’s courses to enjoy at your leisure. Explore away! We’ll have what you’re looking for.
