Bulk Food Stores and Farmers Markets in Ohio’s Amish Country
Along with sustainable living, visitors can stock up on things for their homestead at one of the many bulk food stores and farmer's markets spread throughout the region. Anyone who loves fresh, wholesome food will be tempted to fill their basket with all the goodness. As soon as you step inside the Ashery, the aroma of freshly baked bread and the sight of colorful fruits and vegetables will greet you, filled with a treasure trove of all kinds of dry goods, from organic grains and flours to spices and nuts. At Troyer’s Market, the shelves are well-stocked with a variety of treats, including homemade jams, jellies, and pickles; plus, they have plentiful parking and easy access off of St Rt 39. Hershberger’s Farm and Bakery has a smaller selection of bulk foods, but when you pair the store with the farm, you can learn from the Amish that work there to glean even more homesteading knowledge.
